The new FR35 bookshelf monitor. You could say it is a homage, an ode or a tip-of-the-hat to one of the legendary products of the UK HiFi industry. Andrew and his team were lead by the fundamentals of the design of the LS3/5a including the size of the diaphragm of the drive units, front baffle, and cabinet - adding modern technologies like neodymium magnets, hybrid cone materials, self-damped cabinet materials, and visco-elastic sealants. They also tuned the bass lower and flatter by increasing cabinet depth and in turn, increasing the volume from this small, sealed box.

On a clean sheet of paper, Andrew created the second new Dellichord model being released at the Australian HiFi Show in April 2024. This FR20 IsoActive Bass Module is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the FR35. The FR20 model number is derived from the two, 10" bass drivers specifically engineered to deliver extended, tight bass deep into the lowest octave.

The FR20 is yet another isobaric bass design from Dellichord, however rather than being a full range speaker, this active bass module pairs with smaller speakers to generate full-range sound as a system. The obvious example is coupling the FR20 with Dellichord’s new FR35 bookshelf speaker to create the FR2035 IsoActive System. This creates a genuinely full-range speaker with bass extending below 30Hz, providing tight, tuneful bass without port noise as only a sealed box can deliver. The isobaric design packs all this bass capability into a box half the size you'd expect at around 40 litres.
